Velo Side Effects

Velo is a term that can refer to different products, including nicotine pouches and a medication called Velo 20mg Tablet (containing rabeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor). The side effects differ depending on which product is meant.

Velo Nicotine Pouches: Common side effects include:

  • Nausea
  • Mouth and gum irritation
  • Hiccups
  • Dry mouth
  • Dizziness
  • Headaches
  • Increased heart rate

Some users also report skin reactions (redness, rash, inflammation) around the mouth, especially with flavored pouches. In males, side effects may include cardiovascular strain, blood pressure changes, and disrupted sexual performance due to nicotine’s effects. Long-term use may raise the risk of gum recession, periodontal disease, oral microbiome disruption, increased nicotine dependence, and potential effects on heart health, metabolism, kidney, and liver function. There is currently no conclusive evidence directly linking Velo pouches to cancer, but high-nicotine product use is a known risk factor that warrants caution[5].

Velo 20mg Tablet (Rabeprazole): This medicine is used for reducing stomach acid and treating conditions like duodenal ulcers, GERD, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Common side effects include:

  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Gas (bloating)
  • Weakness
  • Runny nose

These effects are usually mild and temporary. Elderly patients may be at greater risk and should use it with caution, reporting persistent or bothersome symptoms to a doctor[3].
