Disprin Tablet Side Effects

Disprin tablet, containing aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid), can cause a variety of side effects, ranging from mild to serious.

  • Common side effects include nausea, stomach pain, indigestion, vomiting, dizziness, hearing issues, and mild rashes.[1][4][5]
  • Bleeding is a significant risk, as Disprin can increase bleeding tendencies, leading to nosebleeds, bruising, or bleeding from minor cuts.[1] It may also cause stomach or intestinal bleeding, visible as black tarry stools, vomit with blood, or severe abdominal pain.[1][2][6]
  • Serious allergic reactions are rare but possible. Symptoms may include skin rashes, swelling of lips, face or throat, difficulty breathing, or severe skin reactions (such as blistering or peeling).[1][2][6]
  • Other rare but serious effects may include yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice) from liver problems, painful or swollen joints (from high uric acid), fluid retention causing swelling, asthma exacerbations, or headaches caused by medication overuse.[2][6]
  • Excessive use or use in those with certain pre-existing conditions (such as stomach ulcers, bleeding disorders, or liver/kidney disease) greatly increases the risk of complications.[4]

Children under 16 years old should not take Disprin unless specifically directed by a doctor.[1][4] Seek emergency medical help immediately if you experience symptoms of severe allergic reaction, serious bleeding, or sudden confusion.
