Demazin, used for the relief of cold and flu symptoms, may cause a range of side effects. Some are mild and temporary, while others are rare but serious. Possible side effects include:
- Drowsiness or sleepiness[1][5][7]

- Dry mouth, eyes, nose, or throat[1][3][5][7]
- Headache[7]
- Restlessness, excitability, nervousness, agitation, or irritability[1][5]
- Trouble sleeping (insomnia)[1][7]
- Blurred or double vision[1][3][7]
- Constipation or diarrhoea[1][5][7]
- Nausea or vomiting[1][5]
- Difficulty urinating[1][3][5][7]
- Increased appetite[1]
- Tremor, muscle twitching or jerking[1][5]
- Impaired coordination and reduced motor skills[1]
- Fast or irregular heartbeat (palpitations)[1][5][7]
- High blood pressure[1]
- Hallucinations, confusion, or mental/mood changes[1][5][7]
- Seizures (fits)[5][7]
- Ringing in the ears[7]
- Fear or anxiety[1][5]
- Upset stomach or dyspepsia[5][7]
Some very rare but serious side effects include sudden, severe abdominal pain (especially with blood in stools), difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, rash or hives, and inability to urinate[1][5][7]. Stop taking Demazin and seek emergency medical attention if you experience these or signs of a severe allergic reaction.
Children and older adults may be more prone to side effects[5]. Not everyone will experience side effects, and many people have none or only mild symptoms.
