- Visual disturbances (e.g., involuntary upward movement of the eyeballs)
- Serious side effects (emergency attention required):
- Chest pain, angina, or changes in heart beat (e.g., fast heartbeat or cardiac arrest, especially with injection)
- Shock (severe drop in blood pressure, especially with injection)
- Uncontrollable movements (often involving head or neck, particularly in children or young adults and at high doses)
- High fever, high blood pressure, sweating, excessive saliva production, muscle stiffness—signs of neuroleptic malignant syndrome
- Seizures (especially in people with epilepsy)
If you notice any serious side effects such as severe allergic reactions (swelling of the lips, tongue, throat; difficulty breathing; rash; or hives), chest pain, cardiac issues, or uncontrollable movements, seek immediate medical attention[3].
