Betaprofen Side Effects

Betaprofen, which contains ibuprofen as its active ingredient, may cause a range of side effects. Common side effects include:

  • Upset stomach, indigestion, or heartburn[1][7]
  • Nausea or vomiting[1][7]
  • Mild headache[1]
  • Dizziness or drowsiness[1][7]
  • Allergic reactions such as rash, itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing[1][3][7]

More serious, but rare, side effects can also occur, including:

  • Stomach or intestinal ulcers and bleeding, which can sometimes be severe or fatal[3][5][7]
  • Kidney problems, such as reduced urine output, blood in urine, or swelling of the ankles[3][5][7]
  • Heart problems, especially with long-term use or high doses, including heart attack and stroke[5][7]
  • Life-threatening allergic reactions (anaphylaxis), which can cause swelling of the lips, mouth, throat, or tongue; severe breathing difficulty; or a rash that is swollen, raised, blistered, or peeling[3][7]
  • Other possible effects: chest pain, severe headache, blurred vision, sudden dizziness, fainting, convulsions, and jaundice[5][3]

It is important to seek immediate medical attention if you experience signs of severe side effects, such as black or bloody stools, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, severe stomach or chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe allergic reaction symptoms, or sudden confusion or drowsiness[3][5][7].
